Hot Stone Massage : Concentrating on deeper muscle relaxation through the placement of heated stones.

$95 for 90 minutes
$105 with essential oils
A hot stone massage is a great option for chronic muscle tension, a chilly winter day, or for a deeper relaxation experience. It promotes deeper muscle relaxation through the placement of smooth heated stones at specific areas of the body. You can opt to just have hot stones set up for a specific area or you can have a full body layout.
During a hot stone massage session with me, you will be on the massage table and a set of heated stones will be placed underneath your back. There will be a cloth barrier placed between your skin and the stones. Unlike many pictures that you may see, hot stones are never placed directly on the skin when they will be resting in place. When choosing to do a full body layout, there will be the set of stones underneath your back and additional stones will be used to massage your limbs. The heated stones used on your limbs will be coated in oil then moved across your skin to heat the area that is being worked on. Once the stone is cooled to a lower temperature, the stone will be placed underneath that limb.
If you would also like to further enhance your experience, aromatherapy can be added to the massage oil used during your massage. You can choose to have a specific type of essential oil added or a blend of up to three.
Unfortunately, not everyone is able to enjoy a hot stone massage. Please be aware that due to the nature of certain medical conditions I am unable to do a hot stone massage for your health and safety. Some of these conditions include: diabetes, cancer, autoimmune dysfunctions, epilepsy, neuropathy, heart disease, skin conditions, recent surgeries, and pregnancy.
More About Hot Stone Massage
The secret to a hot stone massage is in the types of stones used. They are made out of basalt, a black volcanic rock that absorbs and retains heat well. A common question people have is whether to get hot stone massage or a Swedish massage. Some people find the warmth of the hot stones to be comforting and get this type of massage for added relaxation. It is also suited for people who have muscle tension but prefer a lighter massage. The heat relaxes muscles, allowing the muscles to be worked on without using as deep a pressure. The hot stones also expand blood vessels, which encourages blood flow throughout the body.
